NEW YORK (Reuters) - Advancements in dentistry make it more likely that older adults will keep their teeth longer, which means ongoing oral health care is essential, a new study says. Unfortunately, it's not unusual for the frail and elderly to have poor oral hygiene.
Situated on 12 residential acres, our center has undergone a $35 million project to modernize and renovate our distinct service buildings on our healthcare campus, including Passport Rehabilitation, Adult Day Services, Home Healthcare services, to name a few. Today, our center is one of the most modern centers on Long Island, an affiliate of the North Shore – Long Island Jewish Health System, including an entire building of private patient rooms devoted to short-term recovery and rehabilitation. We are also pleased to be the first and only skilled nursing and rehabilitation center on Long Island to offer OmniVRTM, the world’s first 3D “virtual rehabilitation” system designed specifically for aging adults and others with physical limitations.
Please stop by and tour our center and see the future of short-term rehabilitation. For specific Adult Day Health Care inquiries, please call 516-622-7771.
"I think the Cold Spring Hills is outstanding. I was impressed by the amount of rehabilitation equipment available, the cleanliness of the center and the professionalism of the staff. When I came to Cold Spring Hills I couldn't even get out of bed un-aided, I am now independent and can do nearly everything on my own after only three weeks here. I would highly recommend the Passport Rehabilitation program to anyone needing therapy!"
“I am so glad and grateful to be in the wonderful Cold Spring Hills for my rehab. I have been in other rehabilitation centers over the years because I’ve had several heart failures.Out of all the places and facilities I’ve ever been to, this is most certainly the best in every way. Even after a major stroke, everyone here has given me the incentive and hope to go on each day. I think that is so important for someone to recover.”
My sister and I are very satisfied with the care at Cold Spring Hills. We are just amazed by the care my mother has received here. She always has great improvement here, thanks to the physical therapy department who has helped her through all of her difficult conditions. We will continue to highly recommend Cold Spring Hills to our friends and relatives as we have done in the past."
We looked at several places as we wanted to make sure we found the right center for my husband’s rehab. As soon as we walked into Cold Spring Hills, we were greeted by Marie Hunte. She immediately took us around and showed us everything. She was warm and kind, and we laughed together; she is the best! It was a great tour, and the people were so nice and friendly. My son and I looked at each other and said, “This is it, this is the one.” Since my husband has been here we have found the staff to be top of the line. We love the feel of the place. It doesn’t feel a hospital setting, and when you come to a rehab center you want to feel like it’s your own home and here at Cold Spring Hills they treat you like family!
“The facility was beautiful and the accommodations very comfortable. However, it is the staff of people with excellent skills that makes all the difference. The care I received was always given with respect, dignity and a cheerful, smiling manner.”
“My stay here was very comfortable and pleasant. The environment is beautiful, just lovely. The fresh flowers which they changed every Friday absolutely touched me. Everyone has been very polite. The therapists did a fabulous job; I have come a long way from where I was. I would recommend Cold Spring Hills for my friends and family members."
